During the competition "Per Oktavą 1", do both musical pieces have to be on a single recording?

On days 6 to 9 of October, the first recording You make will be taken as your competition "Per Oktavą 1" entry. We would advice You to make a couple of trial videos to test the condition of your setup, to avoid any surprises on the day of competition. Attention! Both musical pieces have to be recorded in a one single continuous shot.

Is it possible to submit a video to the competition that I have recorded elsewhere?

All of the performances in the competition take place online, that is directly - on the website. We recommend to make a couple of tryout records and check their quality before the performance in the competition, to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

How long will it take for a recording to show up in "My Records"?

It may take from several seconds up to several hours. It depends on the current amount of load on the system of the video streaming service.

How do I register to a competition?

  1. First register as a user of the website
  2. Go to the "Competitions" section above
  3. Pick a desired contest and click on the "Register" link
  4. Fill out the form and click "Submit"

Why are some recordings in the gallery quiet, and some loud?

It depends on the microphone settings used during the recording. While watching, you may adjust the sound level with the control in the lower right corner of the player.

How to make a quality recording?

While recording, it is important to correctly set the sensitivity level of the microphone by the button in the lower right corner of the recorder window. The current volume is indicated by the coloured bar on the right. The optimal level is between the center and the bottom third, while excessive levels may introduce distortion. The distance between you and the microphone is also important. You should personally find your best settings by method of trial.
